School Resources & LEARNING

Schools and teachers have the ability to make a tremendous impact on their students and the community at large. In reading about zero-waste living and environmentally sustainable approaches I have come across some really progressive teachers leaving an indelible imprint on their students. There are so many teachable moments in life. Teaching sustainable living and environmentally friendly approaches can be a powerful tool in cultivating a better future for all.

Field trips and getting outside are really good ways to help kids feel connected to nature. Providing a setting for kids to see what nature has to offer encourages a love of nature then caring for the environment is a natural motivation.

Kids are capable of so much; it is beneficial to enlist their help and listen to their ideas. They can be involved in coastal cleanup, earth day challenges, volunteering, and forming their own environmental clubs. Look no further than Greta Thunberg. Children are the future. Spend time with them, nurture thoughtful conversations about the environment, sustainability, waste, compassion, and how to be good stewards of the land.
